Queswachaca Bridge Tour 1 day
The Incas united the cities of the Great Tawantisuyo by roads and bridges; Q’eswachaka is an example and the only surviving bridge of Inca craftsmanship and ingenuity. Q’eswachaka is rebuilt every June by the local population in a unique festival of music and dance, which adds to the mysticism and sacredness of the ceremony that precedes the rebuilding.

Places to visit when visiting the Q’eswachaka Bridge: Combapata Viewpoint, Inca Bridge of “Q’eswachaka” and the lagoons of Pampamarca, Asnaqocha, Acopia and Pomacanchi.
The Q’ueswachaka Bridge, is a great masterpiece of the Inca ancestors, to visit this suspension bridge, we will start with your hotel pick up from 4:00 to 4:30 a.m., we will head south of Cusco. Our first stop will be in Cusipata, where we will enjoy a delicious breakfast. Then we will continue with the tour passing through the district of Yanaoca, then we will continue our tour for 1 hour more until we reach the district of Quehue, where the amazing and magical Inca bridge of “Q’eswachaka” Q’eswachaka” (3700 masl / 12 139 feet) is located.
The bridge of Q’eswachaka is 33 meters long and 1.20 meters wide, which is built with vegetable fiber and has a length of 28.67 meters. The admirable thing is that it is rebuilt every year in the month of June by four local communities, in this place we will have some time to explore Q’eswachaka and its periphery, along with your guide who will explain the history of this work of Inca engineering. Then continuing this journey we will visit the four lagoons, such as: Pomacanchi, Acopia, Asnaqocha and Pampamarca or Tungasuca.

Inca Bridge of Q’eswachaka

The farming communities of Perccaro, Huinchi and Qqewe are responsible for the reconstruction. The bridge is 33 m long and 1.20 m wide, only straw (ichu) is used as material, women are in charge of weaving the straw and men are in charge of building the bridge.
